Tweed & Company is very excited to present our newest musical creation, FIGHT THE MOONLIGHT, this month at the Marble Arts Centre. Just in time for halloween, you won’t want to miss this outrageous new musical comedy. FIGHT THE MOONLIGHT tells the story of a small hamlet, Windy Hollow, as a strange legend comes to life during the super moon solstice.
Brainchild of HASTINGS! A New Musical lead composer Tricia Black, FIGHT THE MOONLIGHT is based on the local legend of the Loup Garou, and is being presented for two nights only in a workshop fashion.
There are many steps to creating a successful new musical, and one of those steps is performing a workshop presentation, before mounting a full fledged production of a new show, to gauge audience reaction and input, before taking a show back to the drawing board one final time. Presenting a workshop gives us the opportunity to refine a show, while seeing what works and what doesn’t, and raising a small amount of funding to continue work on the Musical.
So audiences know what to expect, the performers will be using their scripts, as we will be making changes leading up to, and potentially between the performances, so that we can adapt and refine based on the audience’s reactions. But rest assured, with this incredible cast and hilarious content, you are in for a night of incredible entertainment, all while helping us to create our next big success story!
Tweed & Company has now created a total of four large scale entirely original Canadian Musicals, and FIGHT THE MOONLIGHT could be our next big hit. There will only be two chances for local audiences to get a sneak peak into our creative process, and experience this exciting and hilarious new show before the rest of the world.
With an all star cast of professional performers, we are very excited to be bringing back some returning favourites, as well as some exciting new talent for Tweed & Company! Local audiences will of course recognize the hilarious Tricia Black, star of countless productions, and composer and writer on many of our shows. They will also remember Colin Jones, featured in many of our major musicals, including HASTINGS this past summer, and returning favourite, Jacquie Martin, making a return to the company after last performing in ALECK BELL & GODSPELL in 2012. Also returning to Tweed will be Alexandra Hurley, who appeared earlier this year in the smash hit SONGBUSTER! New to Tweed, but not new to the company is Nick Whelan, who performed in our hit Fringe show STALKYARD HURTS. And entirely new to the company and our performances here in Tweed, we are thrilled to welcome the incredible talents of Sarite Harris, a sought after performer who worked in professional theatres coast to coast this season, and Caitlin English, the co-writer of the show.
FIGHT THE MOONLIGHT will play October 20th & 21st, both at 7:30 PM at the Marble Arts Centre in Actinolite.
